Quite A Variety Here! – had enough parts to mount two plates on a late model RAV4 plus any leftovers. includes coarse thread and corresponding plastic blocks, as well as fine thread screws which I used in conjunction with the fat rubber grommet/washers to reduce that vibration/buzzing thing that plates often do. seems to be well-made. the odd metal threaded cylinders with the grommets cast around their edge are useful for the lower plate holes to snug the plate against the frame…instead of a sharp threaded bolt sticking out behind the frame, the threads are protected. at least I THINK that’s what they are for. no instructions included. I would recommend the use of a drop of threadlocker/LocTite to keep the screws from shaking loose.

Absolute Best Option for Attaching your Plates to Your Car – I have a plastic box full of various bits and screws bought over the years to attach license plates to a vehicle. NONE of them work anywhere as well as this set. I first bought a set from a local auto parts store. It was exactly what I needed to fit my Suzuki X-90. So I bought more sets. This is my second order from Amazon now – I’ve just ordered another set just in case they stop making them – I currently have 4 vehicles from 4 different manufacturers these sets had exactly what I need for each configuration/setup. It is true that you’ll have some parts left over, but the value is worth it to me – whatever is left over might fit the next vehicle.

Handy kit for many fixes. I Love Torx screws – This is a really neato kit of screws and nuts and rubber washers. The star heads are great. Love em on everything. The rubber is to lock the nuts and prevent rattling noises. People ask why I use lock washers with locknuts on cars. You need the spring washer to keep it tight even if dimensions change because of heat, cold, age etc. You need the locknut so the nut doesn’t vibrate loose and fall where you can’t reach it. But this has specific screws for license plates and the plastic square things fit where the plastic breaks where clipnuts went. It’s better in many cases to put the clip but back, but how? You can put the flange nuts through the plastic squares, JB Weld (a common epoxy) these parts together and use the screws provided, or, you can break one tab off the square plastic things and then clip your clip nut on that side, epoxy if required and use the original screw. Nobody even knows it broke. All it took was one plastic deal. You can get those separately for a few bucks. But this kit has enough other stuff to meet the unexpected. When fixing cars there’s always the unexpected. Plus you don’t have to use them in cars. They look good. I’d make the heads smaller if it were me. often clearances are tight.

totally useless in reality – This kit is OK… it would be amazing if it came with enough hardware to be useful… The problem is they only give you a little bit of each kind of hardware, so quantity wise you have enough to do 2 cars, but not if you need all of them to be one type of hardware. I had to get creative to make it work… but then I realized that I only really needed one security screw per plate and then I realized that if someone wants the plate bad enough that they would either just use pliers to turn the screws (wouldn’t be hard… just a little more time consuming) or they’d tear it off with a pry bar (screwing up my bumper). The only people these screws will stop are the would-be thieves… so really if someone wants your plate they’re going to take it anyway.
