Dashboard Mountable – Use the mounts for and older model Garmin GPS. So far works well, a little tough to adjust without dislodging the mount from the dashboard.

Make sure you position it right the first time – Bought this to hold my Garmin as I got tired of it falling every time the weather turned warm and the oem suction mount gave up. Does hold it quite nicely. Unfortunately, I found out the hard way that the adhesive base isn’t the least bit adaptable (as in not flexible at all) to my slightly curved dash top. Top edge of the base kept coming loose and drooping down, so I tried to remove it, and quickly discovered that the adhesive on the lower edge wasn’t the least bit interested in letting go once it finally got a good grip. Once I finally did get the base off, I then had to work quite hard to remove the remaining goo off of it and the dash. Once I finally had it cleaned up (thanks Goo Gone), I went out to my garage and got a couple strips of the good 3M trim tape (the grey stuff), put two strips of that on, and relocated the base to a flat spot on the dash. Now it’s firmly mounted, and should I ever decide that I need to move it in the future, it’ll be a far easier process. A little heat, and a slow steady pull and it’ll come off nicely. And for those who might be wondering, no, I did not want to mount this to one of the vents as my vent assemblies are not sturdy enough to be hanging this stuff from, and it also makes no sense to me to be blocking a vent with anything.

No or little adhesion – The devise works okay if you use it in a vent location but the adhesion is very minimal. I tried it on my clean dash in my Silverado but it would not stick enough to hold my garmin in place at all.

KIT ONLY INCLUDES MOUNTS! – I expected to receive GPS brackets and base’s. When package arrived I was disappointed to find brackets were NOT included. I’m keeping the bases but had to order brackets off ebay. BKT300: Garmin Nuvi 1200 1300 Bracket cradle holder. $6.00 bucks

Good – My husband love it but the only thing it should rotate a little better to see your screen.

Broken in 3 Months With Light Usage – Worked for a couple months and then the plastic ball clamp mechanism failed: one of the plastic arms cracked and soon afterwards broke off completely. This mount is not worth your time or money. Now I have an aluminum mount from a different manufacturer and it is fine. Spend a little more and get something stronger.

Sturdy if the angle is right – I needed something for a very specific spot on dash. This looked like it would fit, but the range of angles did not include the one I needed. Seemed surprisingly. Still recommended. much sturdier than you might think.

useful configuration but breaks and falls off so epoxy it – this was the exact configuration of mount I needed for my screen. The ball fits garmin, boscam, and probably dozens of other things. The adhesive pad would not stick to the plastic trim panels, so I used epoxy to mount it permanently. Problem solved. The clamp connecting the ball to the base broke in a week. Replaced it with the other one in the box. It broke a month later. I permanently stuck the ball to the mount with epoxy. Problem solved. Obviously this is poorly designed, and you should not have to fix it.
