Coaxes Thieves to Just Move On to “Easier Pickin’s” – This unfamiliar, brightly colored, and hence very visible device locking up that front brake lever may well convince those roving scumbags to just keep moving on to another easier-to-steal bike without one. That’s about the best you can hope for. I mean, if they really WANT that bike, lock or no lock, they’re gonna get it. This lock works on more or less the same principle as the old adage that if you’re walking through the woods with a buddy and a bear chases you, you don’t have to be faster than the bear–just faster than your buddy. Your bike doesn’t have to have some “ultimate lock” made of crystalline unicorn fartz if the one next to it has no lock at all. I have far beefier multiple locks for when I put my bike to bed at home, but this little one fits neatly into one of my panniers for use on the go, and it’s quick to mount and unmount. If you want to add a similar added psychological deterrent, just grab one of those joke store plastic dog poops for a buck or two, and plop it right near the bike. The sight of that should revulse and urge those thieves to move on to another bike too! They’re remarkably realistic and come in a variety of turd styles. Pro Tip: the “flatter” and “juicier” looking ones can also do double duty quite well as a useful sidestand pad when parking on gravelly or less firm surfaces.

Simple use and light weight – I think this device is a great deterrent. Someone won’t be able to push the bike away, it’s very light weight and quick to put on. I tried prying mine apart with my hands but I could not get it open. There is a metal lock that pushes in and sets in place inside the item, it is key activated. I do use it on my Honda Elite 110 scooter every time I go out. If you’re looking for a deterrent I would get this but don’t expect it to use it alone. The plastic body of the grip lock leaves something to be desired. 4/5

  3. G. N (verified owner)

Works great does the job – Got one for my moped and it works great. I feel a lot better about leaving it unattended for a little while.

Not made out of the best material – Go for a metal not plastic lock

Feel more secure in this crazy world – I just got a Vespa and living in California, heard horror stories of people getting their motorcycles stolen . I watched a ton of YouTube videos and this one was recommended on every one I watched.

Fits BMW RnineT – Great product! Came with an extra key and if you have thicker grips like I do, this is the one for you. In the package it comes with a lot of rubber put into the grip lock but you can remove as much as you want to fit your grip. Only dislike is you must have it completely clamped to lock and unlock it, wish it had more wiggle room, but I guess thats what makes it so secure.

  8. K. E (verified owner)

High quality visible theft deterrent – I order the Grip-Lock after looking around for an extra bit of security for my new scooter. The Grip-Lock works great. It’s larger than I expected and comes in a plastic cylinder with 2 keys and some extra plastic bits to make sure it fits your hand grip.

Does not fit 2016 Sportster 48 XL1200X – Even though this items works with handlebars from 1” to 1.5”, it doesn’t specify anything about the brake lever. Well, the brake lever on my 2016 Sportster 48 XL1200X is too thick for it to close completely and it won’t lock.
