Jacket is a good platform for proper CE armor – The armor on this is definitely not real approved CE armor, though the textile reinforced shoulders/elbows/back do feel like they are properly done. At ~$50 I would recommend buying this jacket and chucking the included armor and replacing it with real, approved CE level 1 or 2. There’s enough room in the armor pockets to accommodate most appropriate armor pieces and you’ll spend less than getting a fancy mesh jacket from icon or some other maker (though not that much less since the armor will probably run you between $80 and $120). BILT makes some mesh jackets that are pretty comparable in price and include real CE 1 rated armor in the shoulders/elbows (though back armor is not included but can be added) at a similar price.

Fit well, adds some level of protection – I’ve been riding with this too and from work. Still dark in the mornings and from 2-3pm in the afternoons. It’s been over 100 here every day so it’s a hot ride no matter what you wear. I work at a facility that required all PPE to enter so I bought this to replace a little jacket I was wearing. This is mesh and certainly lets air flow through. I left the pads in so far but I usually have a backpack on and that removes the airflow on my back and I’m behind a windshield so I don’t get huge wind anyway. A little warm on the back but the rest of my body is fine when wearing this in 100+ degrees. I was surprised but it keeps the sun off and lets air flow. As far as the safety aspect, you’ll get some protection but it’s not a $500 jacket so expect a lesser level of protection unless you want to spend the bucks. It seems well constructed, had some sleeve and waist adjustments as well as cuffs you can tighten down if desired (velcro). Sleeve length is perfect for me (5’11, 180) So far, for my use and goal, I have no complaints for the price I paid. Gives me some protection, even in the heat and gets me on the property at work.

Zipper… – This jacket is if value. Is does all that is described, except the zipper in the jacket I purchased seems to have some resistance in the initial zipping up. After several tries and a few choice words it goes up.

Love it, I use it with my Escooter (40mph) – Alright, so I got this cause I fell pretty bad on my kaabo mantis Escooter (my fault) & I wanted more gear.. I feel protected wearing this & it looks pretty nice. It’s a little stiff but I feel it will soften over time. I normally get large but the medium fits perfect( I returned the large). It’s mesh so it’s not that hot wearing it, some parts are kind of see through. The reflective parts are perfect for night riding.The padding can be removed. Thank god I haven’t fell again so I can’t say how it feels to eat it in the jacket. I have not tested in water yet. Remember, Some padding is better than none. For the price, you really can’t go wrong. I’m happy. Stay safe riders
