Great idea, but doesn’t fit. – I had high hopes as this product would have been very useful to me. It arrived promptly and in good condition. The product was easy to install initially but, unfortunately, did not function as advertised. When installed, there is only minimal contact from the detent plastic piece to keep the fuel door shut. There is no apparent adjustment and nothing in the instructions pertaining to fit. It’s disappointing as it what should be as snug a fit as the OEM keyed latch.

Product is as described and is made well. – Quality is good. It took a little adjusting of the gas door to get it to snap shut securely, but now it’s good.

Excellent product with some modification – In stock trim I found that this aftermarket gas door latch did not actually catch and keep the gas door closed. When driving down the road at speed the gas door would actually “float” open due to the air pressure from underneath while riding. I disassembled the latch and extended the groove that the set screw/retainer pin rides in, to keep the catch from popping out, and this allowed it to protrude out a few more millimeters. Now the item works as originally intended. I used a small mill to perform the modification however it could be accomplished other ways with some creativity and abstract thought.

lid lock – It sure makes it nice to be able to open the gas lid without getting the key out. The only problem I found was that the latch does not fit very tight. I has not come open on the road. There is not a easy way to move the lid so it will fit tighter.
