Not a critical piece of equipment but helpful – This is not a high end crash resistant carbon fiber add on. It’s a plastic cover for the display and serves its purpose. The screen film that comes with it is nothing more than a cover. It does not provide any glare protection. If you want that, there are plenty on Amazon for sale.

It’s exactly what you think! – I bought this because I have a 20 850gsa that had the gps over the handlebars, worst design ever, and I moved it with the help of a Touratech mount that moves it over the display just like the 1250’s. I had finished the project and was fiddling with the gps and it slipped out of my hand, fell down and caught the edge of the display. It didn’t really hit hard but it looked like it shattered the display. I had only had the bike for a few weeks and didn’t notice what the previous owner had done to the bike fully, so after I went and had a good cry, I realized it had a glass screen protector. Long story short I ordered this for protection when I drop my gps again. You don’t need to heat it up to put it on, just be slow and careful. The screen protector is just for scratches and smudges, ordered a anti glare glass screen protector because this one is laughable. Buy it for the plastic visor. It looks good and does the job. It IS cheap but you don’t need anything expensive to do this function. 2 thumbs up, I would love it even more if the screen protector was glass and not a thin piece of plastic but I knew it going into it and some people wouldn’t care about it. The TFT display starts at $1000, I think I’ll spend another $60 for a glass screen protector. This visor fits tight and doesn’t vibrate, but it you’ll like it, it looks good.
