Get what you pay for – The windscreen itself is decent quality however the quality of the mounting hardware lets it down thus the reason for the 3 stars. The first clue is the product comes with an “update” in the box which is nothing more than a wing bolt & wing nut to replace a potentially defective plastic assembly part. I’m good with using steel instead of plastic but this was just a quick “hack” to fix a design flaw. Also, the assembly video doesn’t show enough detail for the assembly. If you’re not paying attention and figuring it out on your own it is possible to assemble this incorrectly. My third and final point is the set screws that clamp the extension to the windscreen thread into plastic holes with threads. Be really careful when threading these in. The plastic threads are not well defined. If you force the set screws you will potentially strip the plastic and then you won’t be able to anchor the extension to your windscreen.

Nice wind break. – I’m not very good at navigating instructions. A combo of reading and watching you tube. Took almost an hour when “normal” people woulda knocked it out in 15 min. Bottom line, I did get it on and went on short ride. Worth the $30 to raise my short shield about 5”.

Not bad – Not bad for the price. I read some reviews of folks adding metal bolts/wing nuts to the bracket that attaches to your stock windshield. Mine came with them along with the regular plastic lever lock system. I opted to go with the plastic bits as it looked a little cleaner once mounted and felt secure enough in my garage. About 10 minutes into my highway ride at 70 mph the right side fell apart leaving the windshield swinging in the breeze on the left mount. I was able to pull over and throw it in my saddle bag. I went home and attached it with the metal bolts and tested it again with no issues.

Works well for my application – Not sure what the issue is with some other reviewers, but this extension works well for me. Now, I don’t ride at 120 miles an hour, either, so your mileage may vary. At typical highway speeds I’ve not had any issues with it. It comes with a second set of bolts to supposedly secure it better, but I haven’t put those in because they’re a lot more obtrusive than the original bolts.

A quality, good value shield with fixings that are not perfect. – The sheild itself is good and solid but the plastic fixings are a weak point of the whole product. The supplied metal replacement wingnuts are ugly and for me there is still some movement from the shield after they have been fitted. However, the price is almost a third of the European alternatives and Motoparty themselves were excellent to deal with. They replaced a faulty wingnut swiftly and without hassle.

For the money, it definitely works well but… – So I’ll tell you that for the money that you pay, this is an excellent alternative to the more expensive branded ones. However, I’ll also tell you that for what you pay, you shouldn’t expect superb quality and build materials. Does it work well as designed to defect wind in an adjustable fashion? Yes, absolutely. I’ve installed it on my 16′ FJR just for a little more height on the touring screen that I have and it definitely works. Was easy to install and stays put. I’ll try to break it down into a list of pros and cons.
