Great Disc Lock w/ a Working Alarm – I was initially in the hunt for a strong no-frills disc lock for my motorcycle. I am living in an apartment with a controlled access closed parking garage (actually open during business retail hours on one end) and I needed some confidence parking it alongside my SUV. This thing does the trick in a few awesome ways:

Too sensitive – I got these because it’s super loud, and on that front it didn’t disappoint. But apparently I ruined my neighbor’s life for two months because I parked the bike around the block and even a breeze was enough to make this thing chirp. So it was making ear-splitting noise at all hours of the day while under no threat at all. If I use it again I’ll probably take the battery out first, reducing it to a good, solid lock without an alarm that I could have gotten much cheaper.

1 year review – buy it – I have had this outside on the east coast for one year through one winter and it’s still going strong on the original batteries. The motion detection is good, if you grab the handle bars or bump the bike it makes a loud beep, if you do it again an alarm goes off for 15 seconds or so. It’s an excellent noise deterrent. If you were to try and steal the bike by either breaking this lock or picking the bike up the alarm would be very annoying to the thief.
