Easy to install 2022 Honda CB500X – Product was easy to install came with the necessary hardware to complete in about 30 minutes, providing you have all the correct metric Allen Wrenches. 3 different sizes,

Mounted on 2017 Honda CB500x – 1) Unless they have invented magnetic aluminum, this rack is steel, not aluminum as described. For me, that is actually preferable as I suspect it is stronger and it isn’t that heavy. Still, I dinged them one star for saying this was aluminum as this might be important to others and I’ll have to watch for rust.

Will need to make your own shims and run to the hardware store – So to start off, this product for what you pay is fantastic but it’s not without some drawbacks. You’ll be able to see in one of my pictures when you tighten down the mounting brackets, the part where it’s supposed to mount to the plate is not flat like it should be. Luckily that wasn’t that big of an issue as I thought it was going to be, you’ll just need to install the mounting brackets on loosely then tighten down the plate first and it’ll come into line. Now as to the hardware that comes with it, you might as well throw it into the trash and run down to your local hardware store because some of the bolts are too long to work in your bike. However, you’re still plenty ahead in cost compared to other mounts like what you’d find in GIVI brand equipment. Even with all the minor inconveniences, I’d still but this thing again, it’s plenty sturdy for all that you’d ever need it for and it’s cheap enough that you won’t mind getting it all dinged up. Just keep in mind that you will have to improvise some shims to raise the mounts up because the mounting brackets will damage the plastic on your bike if you don’t.

I knew what I was getting into. – Long story short this item is worth the lower price than other pricer ones. If you have some mechanical ability don’t hesitate to purchase. You will need to shim and bend to fit as needed like other reviews have mentioned . The description says It is made of aluminum but It is made of thick steel and is plenty sturdy. I would purchase again.
