Good theft deterrent – Works well. Blends in with the bike and is kind of hard to see when it’s on. Harder for thieves to find. It isn’t super loud, which is okay with me since my ear is right next to it when I’m taking it off. It does seem to get progressively louder and more annoying the more you fiddle with it while the alarm is engaged. Easy to take off quickly with the key and avoid all but a warning beep. It looks sort of cheap by it feels really heavy and sturdy.

Don’t trust it with your valuables – Worked alright when I got it, doesn’t work 2 days later. If you buy this, know that it could go bad at any moment. I never even got to use mine, I just went to test it again and the motion sensitivity was way off. I don’t know what I expected, I should be used to getting punked by Chinese ripoffs by now.

Not worried any one will steal my bike – I can’t believe this amazing device cost so little! I purchased a U-Lock that cost 3x as much and didn’t work as well (key got stuck all the time). When I am just doing a quick run into a place, it’s all I use. When I will be more than 30 minutes, I add a locking cable. I don’t worry about my bike at all. The alarm is as loud as many car alarms. It’s not super visible so an unsuspecting thief will get a surprise! I put the lock on the wheel that’s least exposed so they do jump.

Added security for my 125cc SCOOTERS – Bought this disc lock for my 125cc scooters. The build quality feels and looks first rate but it must be noted that they both live in a dry indoor garage. Long term performance under wet conditions still to be determined. My scooters are used mainly in the city for errands, where parking lots are tempting for thieves. In addition to using a cable lock/Kryptonite Rock Lock, decided to get this disc lock since installation is very simple.
